Press Release: New book, If Courage Could Talk, explores courage from a fresh perspective

Author Candace Doby, in her tongue-in-cheek debut release, gives courage a voice worth listening to.

ATLANTA, Georgia, January 13, 2020 — If your fear has a voice … why shouldn’t your courage? National speaker, mentor, and “Corporate America Dropout” Candace Doby answers that question with her first book, If Courage Could Talk, set to be released on February 10, 2020. The illustrated quote book features 100 wittily candid quotes from the imaginary mouth of courage to inspire contemporary readers to check their fear and pursue their goals. With an attitude that blends truth, love and shade, the book readily questions readers’ limiting beliefs and offers an entry point into intentional conversations about conjuring their own courage. Its release is perfectly timed with the beginning of a new year — a period when individuals reset their goals and reimagine their lives.

If Courage Could Talk is a pocket-size publication, broken down into four chapters to help guide readers through courage’s commentary. Each chapter ends with note pages, giving them literal and figurative space to tend to the ideas and thoughts that surface between each page.

“When I first started this book, the purpose of it was to offer adolescent and adult readers a fun and compelling way to talk and think about courage – a topic that can be heavy, intimidating and even boring to consider. But as the project evolved, the purpose expanded. In addition to creating the book as a conversation starter, I began creating it to provide readers a counter voice to that of fear,” says Candace Doby.

In her own acts of courage, Candace has traveled around the world solo, launched the greeting card and gift company Pep Talker, and quit a successful, 16-year marketing career to pursue her vision of making courage fun to talk about and easy to digest for youth everywhere.  If Courage Could Talk is her latest effort toward that vision.

In celebration of the book’s release, Candace will host a launch party on Sunday, February 9 at The Beehive Cooperative, located at 1250 Caroline St NE, Atlanta, GA 30307. To RSVP for the event, please email info@candacedoby.com
